Congratulations to the winners of the UK-RAS national school competition to design the best space robot, who were announced at the International Robotics Showcase in London on Thursday 27th June 2019. Out of entries sent from across the UK, pupils from Landau Forte College Derby took first place whilst a class from Fittleworth C of E Village School in Pulborough, West Sussex, came second.

Proudly sponsored by FAIR-SPACE, the School Robot Competition was a joint project of the UK-RAS Network and Twinkl, open to all UK schoolchildren and students aged from 8 – 14. The aim of the annual competition is to inspire and engage young people in the science of robotics and space exploration, and to foster interest in STEM subjects.

Although the competition has ended, the Twinkl Robotics app and online web version are still available to use for free globally. Please click here for more information and to download the app.

A video of the competition highlights is available via the UK-RAS network website. We look forward to the next competition, which will be announced in the new academic year!
