Innovation Vouchers

The FAIR-SPACE SME Innovation Vouchers give funded access to the expertise and equipment of the FAIR-SPACE Laboratories in order to support your new product and market programmes and is designed to support businesses in the UK who are working in the space robotics and artificial intelligence for autonomous systems community or who want to move into this area.

Through the SME Innovation Initiative, you can claim up to £5,000 of laboratory time with some expertise to further develop a business product or service.

As industrial partner, you must be willing to make a cash or in-kind contribution to the academic partner which at least matches the value of the funding allocated work but by working with one of our experts on your novel idea.

Eligibility

To qualify for the FAIR-SPACE Hub SME Initiative you must:

  • be starting up or running a micro or small or medium-sized UK business(with fewer than 250 employees)

  • be located in the UK

  • be willing and able to match in cash or in-kind to the value of the funding allocated

Please note that average laboratory hire costs per day are approximately £1500. Please see additional information [insert link to new page or include here the labs that are available} about the kinds of laboratory equipment and expertise that is available.

Additional benefits of the SME Innovation Initiative will include:

  • Access to a wide range of space robotics and AI expertise from across our UK Hub network to support innovation activities and the development of novel products/services.

  • Interaction with some of FAIR-SPACE Hub’s key space sector partners which include organisations such as the prime space manufacturers, space related agencies and support organisations

  • An opportunity to join our FAIR-SPACE Hub Membership scheme

  • Opportunities to scale up your R&D project through the development of links with funders and investors.

Should your project idea be identified as suitable for further funding, you will then be offered support and advice in order to progress your application into a formal application for external funding in the hope of generating further funding to support your innovation or research activity and support the growth of your business.
